Matthew is a busy practitioner with experience in a wide range of cases acting for both prosecution and defence.

Matthew is a category 4 prosecutor on the Crown Prosecution Service Advocate Panel Scheme and is also on the specialist rape and child sexual abuse list.

Matthew has particular expertise representing vulnerable and young defendants and questioning vulnerable witnesses. He has received praise from a registered intermediary and judges for his preparation and advocacy. Appearing predominantly in Crown Court centres in North Wales and Merseyside / Cheshire, Matthew has also appeared in the Administrative Court and in the Court of Appeal representing both appellants and respondents.

Matthew also has experience representing interested parties at inquests in Coroner’s Courts.

Career History:

Matthew was brought up and educated in North Wales. He completed his pupillage at Nicholas Street Chambers and has practiced in Chester since then.
