Elen is a specialist Criminal Law practitioner. Elen is a fluent Welsh speaker and can offer those who wish to give evidence or conduct conferences in Welsh an appropriate, sympathetic service.

Career History:

Elen joined Linenhall Chambers in 2011 having been a Crown Advocate at CPS, North Wales since 1988 after completing pupillage in London in 1986.

Whilst at the CPS, Elen concentrated exclusively on advocacy and has extensive experience of serious and complex casework. She had responsibility for some of the most serious and high profile cases dealt with by CPS North Wales in the years before she returned to private practice, including homicide, complex drug investigations, high value fraud and conspiracy cases, rape and serious sexual offences.

Elen has delivered training on a number of legal issues including rape and serious sexual offences; European arrest warrants; Special Measures; disclosure of unused material and the Proceeds of Crime Act .She continues to provide regular training to the North Wales Police and Local Authority Social Service Departments.

Since joining Chambers Elen has developed a strong defence practice and is well regarded by those who depend upon her skills. She has a reputation for being approachable and friendly – qualities which she regards as important.
